Public bug reported:

Dell 16S DS16260 - internal audio not detected.

I am running ubuntu 26.04 on a Dell 16S DS16260 with an Intel Panther
Lake Smart Sound Technology audio controller.

Hardware:
Dell 16S DS16260
Intel Panther Lake Smart Sound Technology BUS
PCI ID: 8086
Dell subsystem ID: 1028:0e14

Kernel:
7.0.0-34-generic

The internal audio hardware is not detected. Running aplay -l returns:
aplay:device_list:279 no sound cards found

Pipewire is running normally, but wpctl status only shows dummy output.

The SOF driver appears to load and the SOFfirmware boots successfully,
but SoundWire/SDCA initialization fails.

Relevant kernel messages:

No Soundwire Machine driver found for the ACPI-reported configuration

snd_soc_sdca_class_function...failed to locate SWF

snd_soc_sdca_class_function...probe with driver
snd_soc_sdca_class_function failed with error -110

soundwire_intel...prepare clock stop failed-110

platform sof_sdw:deffered probe pending:sof_sdw:snd_soc_register_card
failed -517

the firmware reports succsessful SOF boot(version 2.14.1.1) so this
appears to be an issue with the SoundWire/SDCA machine-driver or
hardware configuration support rather than simply missing SOF firmware.

I would like to know whether the Dell 16S DS16260/Intel Panther Lake
audio configuration is currently supported in ubuntu 26.04, or whether a
newer kernel/audio driver is required. Thanks.
