Public bug reported: On a Lenovo ThinkBook 16p G6 ADR (21U0, BIOS R7CN18WW, AMD Ryzen 9 8940HX) with a MediaTek MT7925 [14c3:7925], pings to the AP spike to 0.4–2 s every few seconds. Signal is -38 dBm and other clients on the same AP are fine.
Reproduced on kernels 7.0.0-31-generic and 7.0.0-38-generic, linux- firmware 20260319.git217ca6e4, MT7925 firmware 20260605184805. Disabling PCIe ASPM L1.2 for the card fixes the spikes (max latency ~2 s -> ~10 ms): echo 0 | sudo tee /sys/bus/pci/devices/0000:04:00.0/link/l1_2_aspm TX retries stay at 30-50% with L1/L1.1 enabled and drop to 0.5% only with all ASPM off (options mt7925e disable_aspm=1). Wi-Fi power save is a minor factor (~3 ms extra average latency). Full measurements and upstream report: https://github.com/openwrt/mt76/issues/1108#issuecomment-6059163438 Request: disable L1.2 (or all ASPM) for MT7925 on this platform, or pick up the upstream fix once it lands.
