Public bug reported:
dogtail2 2.1.0-1 is a new package in stonking-proposed. It has never
built: its only build (arch: all, on amd64) is in dependency-wait.
Dependency wait: python3-setuptools (>= 80)
stonking has python3-setuptools 78.1.1-0.1build1, so the excuses report
"dogtail2 has no binaries on any arch".
The >= 80 comes from upstream's pyproject.toml (requires =
["setuptools>=80", ...]) and was copied into the Debian Build-Depends.
The only recent setuptools feature the build uses is the PEP 639 SPDX
license expression (license = "GPL-2.0"), which setuptools has supported
since 77. pybuild builds with --skip-dependency-check, so only the
Build-Depends version matters.
Fix: lower the Build-Depends to python3-setuptools (>= 77).
Tested on stonking amd64 with python3-setuptools 78.1.1:
* the package builds and the test suite passes (Ran 221 tests ... OK, under
xvfb and dbus as on the builders)
* python3-dogtail2 ships dogtail-2.1.0.dist-info with License-Expression:
GPL-2.0, _version.py set to 2.1.0 (setuptools-scm), and the
dogtail-create-config, dogtail-get-config and dogtail-headless scripts
The delta can be dropped once Ubuntu has setuptools >= 80.
