Hey there Hans! Thanks for the bug report and updates. I'm uncertain what is causing this, and this to me sounds more like an issue/bug with the graphics stack (possibly Xwayland or GNOME also). I will mark this as "Invalid" for the ubuntu-release-upgrader, however I'm not excluding the possibility of a bug here.
