Public bug reported:
Please remove the armhf binaries of pseudo (pseudo, libpseudo, version
1.9.0+git20230301+ec6151a2b057-1) from stonking release.
pseudo 1.9.2+git20250711+d1db9c219abf-2 has been in stonking-proposed
for 346 days. It builds on all other architectures and all its
autopkgtests and those of its reverse test dependencies pass; the only
migration blocker is:
missing build on armhf: libpseudo, pseudo (from
1.9.0+git20230301+ec6151a2b057-1)
The armhf build fails because pseudo's LD_PRELOAD wrappers are not
compatible with 64-bit time_t / _FILE_OFFSET_BITS=64 on 32-bit
architectures:
{standard input}:27579: Error: symbol `open64' is already defined
{standard input}:28821: Error: symbol `openat64' is already defined
...
https://launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/pseudo/1.9.2+git20250711+d1db9c219abf-2/+build/32794208
The old armhf binary in release predates the 64-bit time_t transition. This is
not fixable with a build flag change; it needs porting work in pseudo. Debian
has the same failure:
- Debian #1069487 (serious, open since April 2024), still failing on armhf with
the latest 1.9.11-1 in unstable.
- Debian #1150074: pre-removal warning for pseudo from unstable; it is not in
testing.
Reverse dependencies checks:
$ reverse-depends -r stonking src:pseudo
No reverse dependencies found
$ reverse-depends -r stonking -b src:pseudo
No reverse dependencies found
$ reverse-depends -r stonking -a armhf pseudo
No reverse dependencies found
$ reverse-depends -r stonking -a armhf libpseudo

* pseudo
(i.e. only pseudo itself)
Removing the armhf binaries lets the new version migrate on all other
architectures.
