Upstream status for 06cb:00bc: libfprint lists it as unsupported, and adding the ID to the existing `synaptics` driver isn't enough, because the sensor uses Synaptics' TLS-based "Tudor" protocol. A working out-of- tree route is synaTudor (a libfprint-TOD module that runs Dell's Windows driver in a sandbox): https://github.com/Popax21/synaTudor/pull/68. On Ubuntu it works with the stock libfprint-2-tod1, fprintd and libpam- fprintd; the Plasma lock screen picks it up through kscreenlocker's `kde-fingerprint` PAM service. Nothing in Ubuntu's libfprint package can fix this downstream for now. ** Bug watch added: gitlab.freedesktop.org/libfprint/libfprint/-/issues #715 https://gitlab.freedesktop.org/libfprint/libfprint/-/issues/715 -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/2144073 Title: Synaptics 06cb:00bc fingerprint reader not supported on Ubuntu 25.10 / Dell Latitude 7210 2-in-1 To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/libfprint/+bug/2144073/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list [email protected] https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
