Ian, Thank you very much for the explanation and for the workaround. I applied the change by setting privacyShutterEventType and privacyShutterEventCode to -1 in /etc/camera/ipu7x/sensors/imx471-uf.json, cleared the CamHAL shared memory, restarted the camera pipeline, and tested again.
The camera is now working normally. I had been without a working internal camera on this machine for about 6 months, so your help really made a big difference. Thanks to your guidance, everything is finally back to normal. I also agree that this should be treated as a userspace CamHAL privacy- shutter/input-event workaround, separate from the original SONY471A duplicate software-node / -EEXIST kernel issue, which is fixed by linux 7.0.0-39.39. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/2158540 Title: ThinkPad X9-15 Gen 1: IPU7 camera probe fails — duplicate software_node SONY471A-0 (-EEXIST), bridge init failed To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/linux/+bug/2158540/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list [email protected] https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
