Public bug reported:

hexcurse 1.60.0-2 has been stuck in stonking-proposed for 99 days
because it fails to build on every architecture:

https://launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/hexcurse/1.60.0-2/+build/33365138

getopt.c:361:18: error: initialization discards 'const' qualifier from pointer
target type [-Werror=discarded-qualifiers]
  361 |     char *temp = my_index (optstring, c);

glibc 2.43 implements the ISO C23 versions of strchr() and similar
functions, which return a const pointer when given a const argument.
Upstream builds with -Werror.

Debian has the same issue, #1128548 (serious, no patch yet), and the
package was removed from testing.

Fix: declare the local as const char * (it is only read). A debdiff is
attached (1.60.0-2ubuntu1), and the patch is being sent to the Debian
bug.
