Public bug reported: cdogs-sdl 2.4.0+dfsg-2 has been in stonking-proposed for 72 days. It fails to build on ppc64el; every other architecture builds fine:
https://launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/cdogs- sdl/2.4.0+dfsg-2/+build/33461608 src/cdogs/stb/stb_image.h:1599:18: error: 's.io_user_data' may be used uninitialized [-Werror=maybe-uninitialized] src/cdogs/stb/stb_image.h:1599:18: error: 's.buflen' may be used uninitialized [-Werror=maybe-uninitialized] Upstream's CMakeLists.txt adds -Werror unconditionally (still the case on master). Ubuntu builds ppc64el with -O3 -flto=auto, which produces false-positive maybe-uninitialized warnings in the bundled stb_image.h. Debian builds with -O2 and is fine on all architectures. No Debian or upstream report. cdogs-sdl has no reverse dependencies. Fix: a patch dropping -Werror (warnings stay visible but non-fatal) rather than whitelisting a single warning, since the ppc64el build stopped at the first failing file and other files could hit other -O3 warnings. It only changes diagnostics, not the generated code. To be validated with a ppc64el PPA build before upload. ** Affects: cdogs-sdl (Ubuntu) Importance: Undecided Status: New ** Tags: ftbfs ppc64el stonking update-excuse ** Tags added: ftbfs ppc64el stonking update-excuse -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/2170806 Title: cdogs-sdl FTBFS on ppc64el: -Werror with -O3 false positives in bundled stb_image.h To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/cdogs-sdl/+bug/2170806/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list [email protected] https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
