The autopkgtest for distro-info should cover the testing. I extended the description and added a manual test case.
** Description changed: [ Impact ] With Ubuntu expanding Legacy Support to 15 years, distro-info-data should be updated with the new dates reflecting this commitment. Reference: https://ubuntu.com//blog/canonical-expands-total-coverage- for-ubuntu-lts-releases-to-15-years-with-legacy-add-on [ Regression Potential ] Minimal, as long as we are only updating entries (we do this every release). This is only the case for resolute. For older releases, there is a risk that the new column is not parsed correctly and causes the consumers to fail. [ Test Case ] * The eol-legacy column in /usr/share/distro-info/ubuntu.csv should be 15 years after the release * Run the distro-info autopkgtest that verifies that the new data file does not regress the CLI tool or the Python library. + * The distro-info package adds test case for the new --supported-legacy parameter and the library extension. So check that the autopkgtest was successful. A manual test can be run. Expect this output: + + ``` + $ ubuntu-distro-info --supported-legacy --date=2025-06-07 + trusty + xenial + bionic + focal + jammy + noble + ``` -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/2131678 Title: Legacy Support extension extended to 15 years To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/distro-info/+bug/2131678/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list [email protected] https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
