** Description changed:

I'm raising this bug to report an issue (possible regression) in the
7.0.0-38 kernel that causes resume from suspend to fail. Relevant
details below, and extensive logs attached.

  Hardware:
  - NVIDIA GTX 1080
  - Zorin OS 18.1 (based on Ubuntu Noble)
  - NVIDIA 580.178.04

  Regression:
  - Suspend/resume works on 7.0.0-34
  - Suspend/resume fails on 7.0.0-38

  Observed behavior:
  - System enters suspend
  - Journal shows "PM: suspend entry (deep)"
  - System never resumes
  - Requires hard reset

  Testing performed:
  - Booted into 7.0.0-34 - suspend/resume work as-expected
  - Boot into 7.0.0-38 - suspend works, fails to resume
  - Boot into 24.04 live USB - suspend/resume work (though other, unrelated,
issues are present)

+ Regression: Yes
+
+ Last known good:
+ 7.0.0-34-generic
+
+ First known bad:
+ 7.0.0-38-generic
+
+ Reproduction rate:
+ 100%
+
+ Steps:
+ 1. Boot 7.0.0-38-generic
+ 2. Login
+ 3. Execute: systemctl suspend
+ 4. System enters deep sleep
+ 5. Attempt wake using keyboard, mouse, or power button
+ 6. System never resumes
+ 7. Hard reset required
+
+ Control test:
+ Boot 7.0.0-34-generic
+ Repeat same steps
+ Suspend/resume works normally
+
  Expected behavior:
  - Resume successfully from suspend on 7.0.0-38 as on 7.0.0-34
