Apologies for the gap since September. Merge proposal against ubuntu/noble-devel is up: https://code.launchpad.net/~asrani-aman/ubuntu/+source/qemu/+git/qemu/+merge/513167
What is in it: - Clean backport of upstream 4af976ef398e as d/p/ubuntu/lp2166503-rbd-fix-bdrv-get-specific-info.patch (10 hunks, line offsets only; the qapi/block-core.json hunk is a doc comment, no schema change). - Version 1:8.2.2+ds-0ubuntu1.20 on top of the 1.19 currently in noble-proposed; please adjust if another upload lands first. - Test-built on noble amd64 (dpkg-buildpackage, all binaries). The built block-rbd.so no longer contains the blocking-probe code path; the archive's 1.18 module does. - Measured 2026-09-04 on our Ceph host with this same patch built into 8.2.2: with rbd_qos_bps_limit=8 MiB/s and a discard in flight, `virsh domstats --block` took 60.39 s with the guest frozen on stock 1.16, and 0.141-0.153 s over six runs with the patched module, guest clock continuous. Happy to do the SRU verification from noble-proposed as soon as it lands there. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/2166503 Title: rbd: blocking rbd_read() in .bdrv_get_specific_info freezes guests To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/qemu/+bug/2166503/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list [email protected] https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
