Public bug reported: This is a debian package: https://launchpad.net/ubuntu/+archive/test-rebuild-20260320-resolute/+build/32431677 which fails to build because of a symbol mismatch between the symbols in the package vs the symbols in the so library: dpkg-gensymbols: warning: debian/libiir1/DEBIAN/symbols does not match completely debian/libiir1.symbols --- debian/libiir1.symbols (libiir1_1.10.0+dfsg-4_amd64) +++ dpkg-gensymbolsoKQNvA 2026-03-27 04:08:12.843508852 +0000 @@ -55,8 +55,8 @@ (c++)"Iir::Custom::TwoPole::setup(double, double, double, double, double)@Base" 1.9.4 (c++)"Iir::HighPassTransform::HighPassTransform(double, Iir::LayoutBase&, Iir::LayoutBase const&)@Base" 1.9.4 (c++)"Iir::HighPassTransform::transform(std::complex<double>)@Base" 1.9.4 - (c++|optional)"Iir::LayoutBase::add(Iir::ComplexPair const&, Iir::ComplexPair const&)@Base" 1.9.4 - (c++|optional)"Iir::LayoutBase::addPoleZeroConjugatePairs(std::complex<double> const&, std::complex<double> const&)@Base" 1.9.4 +#MISSING: 1.10.0+dfsg-4# (c++|optional)"Iir::LayoutBase::add(Iir::ComplexPair const&, Iir::ComplexPair const&)@Base" 1.9.4 +#MISSING: 1.10.0+dfsg-4# (c++|optional)"Iir::LayoutBase::addPoleZeroConjugatePairs(std::complex<double> const&, std::complex<double> const&)@Base" 1.9.4 (c++)"Iir::LowPassTransform::LowPassTransform(double, Iir::LayoutBase&, Iir::LayoutBase const&)@Base" 1.9.4 (c++)"Iir::LowPassTransform::transform(std::complex<double>)@Base" 1.9.4 (c++)"Iir::RBJ::AllPass::setupN(double, double)@Base" 1.9.4 @@ -69,5 +69,5 @@ (c++)"Iir::RBJ::IIRNotch::setupN(double, double)@Base" 1.9.4 (c++)"Iir::RBJ::LowPass::setupN(double, double)@Base" 1.9.4 (c++)"Iir::RBJ::LowShelf::setupN(double, double, double)@Base" 1.9.4 - (c++)"throw_invalid_argument(char const*)@Base" 1.9.4 - (c++|optional)"void std::vector<Iir::PoleZeroPair, std::allocator<Iir::PoleZeroPair> >::_M_realloc_insert<Iir::PoleZeroPair const&>(__gnu_cxx::__normal_iterator<Iir::PoleZeroPair*, std::vector<Iir::PoleZeroPair, std::allocator<Iir::PoleZeroPair> > >, Iir::PoleZeroPair const&)@Base" 1.9.4 +#MISSING: 1.10.0+dfsg-4# (c++)"throw_invalid_argument(char const*)@Base" 1.9.4 +#MISSING: 1.10.0+dfsg-4# (c++|optional)"void std::vector<Iir::PoleZeroPair, std::allocator<Iir::PoleZeroPair> >::_M_realloc_insert<Iir::PoleZeroPair const&>(__gnu_cxx::__normal_iterator<Iir::PoleZeroPair*, std::vector<Iir::PoleZeroPair, std::allocator<Iir::PoleZeroPair> > >, Iir::PoleZeroPair const&)@Base" 1.9.4 dh_makeshlibs: error: failing due to earlier errors make: *** [debian/rules:6: binary] Error 25
This happens for: amd64 amd64v3 arm64 ppc64el s390x. This crash won't happen for armhf or riskv64. As a fix I've created a package as PPA which has the symbols file removed and it works: https://launchpad.net/~berndporr/+archive/ubuntu/dsp/+build/33847331 diff -Nru iir1-1.10.0+dfsg/debian/libiir1.symbols iir1-1.10.0+dfsg/debian/libiir1.symbols --- iir1-1.10.0+dfsg/debian/libiir1.symbols 2025-08-29 06:50:50.000000000 +0000 +++ iir1-1.10.0+dfsg/debian/libiir1.symbols 1970-01-01 00:00:00.000000000 +0000 https://launchpadlibrarian.net/881155750/iir1_1.10.0+dfsg-4_1.10.0+dfsg-5resolute.diff.gz ** Affects: iir1 (Ubuntu) Importance: Undecided Status: New ** Summary changed: - Building of package ii1 crashes + Building of package iir1 crashes -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/2171039 Title: Building of package iir1 crashes To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/iir1/+bug/2171039/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list [email protected] https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
