Public bug reported:

Binary package hint: gdesklets

Ubuntu 7.10
I'm not sure where exactly I'm getting this from, but if I leave my system
logged in and running for a few days, Python's memory usage goes from a
reasonable maybe 5 MB to >200MB. Firefox or Rhythmbox never go much higher
than 40 MB or so. In System Monitor, it has the Gdesklets icon next to it, so
I assume that means it's the Python from that package, though I think that it's
sometimes just Python (its icon is the blue and yellow cross thing, right?).
Logging out and back in takes this back down to where it should be.
If I look in memory maps from System Monitor, it shows [heap] as having 430 MB
used, while the next biggest users are four blanks taking up 8 MB each.
I did a gdesklets restart, and Gdesklet's Python in System Monitor went to
12MB. That's at 1330 on the 25th, I'll try to see how long it takes for this
to build up.

** Affects: gdesklets (Ubuntu)
     Importance: Undecided
         Status: New
