Public bug reported:

Hardware:
Apple Mac Pro 5,1
Broadcom BCM4322 802.11a/b/g/n Wireless LAN Controller
PCI ID: 14e4:432b
Subsystem: Apple AirPort Extreme (106b:008e)

Operating system:
Ubuntu 26.10 (upgraded from 26.04 LTS)
Architecture: amd64

Affected package:
broadcom-sta-dkms 6.30.223.271-32
Kernel module: wl

Problem:
The Broadcom wireless adapter is correctly detected, and the wl
kernel module loads successfully. However, the adapter cannot
discover any wireless networks when running Linux kernels 7.0
or 7.3.

NetworkManager recognizes the wireless interface (wls5), but
Wi-Fi scans return no networks.

Kernel comparison:
6.8.0-138-generic: Wi-Fi works normally.
7.0.0-38-generic: Wi-Fi scanning fails.
7.3.0-9-generic: Wi-Fi scanning fails.

On kernel 7.0, the following errors repeatedly appear in dmesg:

ERROR @wl_notify_scan_status :
wls5 Scan_results error (-22)

Troubleshooting performed:
- Verified that the wl module was loaded.
- Confirmed that Wi-Fi was not blocked by rfkill.
- Restarted Wi-Fi through NetworkManager.
- Unloaded and reloaded the wl module.
- Repeated Wi-Fi scans using nmcli.

None of these actions resolved the problem.

Booting the same Ubuntu installation with kernel 6.8.0-138
immediately restores Wi-Fi functionality.

Expected behavior:
The Broadcom BCM4322 adapter should discover and connect to
available wireless networks using the wl driver.

Actual behavior:
The adapter is detected but cannot discover wireless networks
on kernels 7.0 and 7.3.

Additional information:
The diagnostic report was collected while running kernel
6.8.0-138, which is the working fallback kernel.

The problem is reproducible on the same hardware and Ubuntu
installation by changing the boot kernel.
