This still happens in Gutsy:

[EMAIL PROTECTED]:~$ sudo apt-get -s install figfonts

is only available from another source
However the following packages replace it:
  figlet
E: Package figfonts has no installation candidate
[EMAIL PROTECTED]:~$ sudo apt-get -s install figlet

Reading state information... Done
Suggested packages:
  figfonts figfonts-cjk
The following NEW packages will be installed:
  figlet
0 upgraded, 1 newly installed, 0 to remove and 0 not upgraded.
