Public bug reported:

After upgrading to Ubuntu 26.10, the desktop freezes when I use a
touchpad gesture to open the GNOME overview or switch workspaces while a
video is playing. This occurs with video playback in both a browser and
Celluloid video player. Logging out and logging back in restores the
desktop.

A subsequent GNOME update seemed to reduce the problem, but did not
eliminate it.

Steps to reproduce

1. Log into the Ubuntu GNOME Wayland session.
2. Start playing a video in a browser or Celluloid.
3. Use a touchpad gesture to open the overview or switch to another workspace.
4. The desktop may freeze. Logging out and logging back in restores it.

Audio remains responsive during the freeze.

Expected result

The overview / workspace animation completes normally and video playback
continues without freezing the desktop.

Actual result

The desktop freezes and requires logging out and logging back in to
recover.
