Public bug reported:
I’m using Ubuntu 26.10 (Stonking Stingray) on an HP OmniBook X
LaptopNGAI 14-ka0073cl with an Intel Core Ultra Series 3 processor. The
built-in speakers do not appear as an audio output. PipeWire shows only
“Dummy Output.”
The Intel audio controller is detected and uses sof-audio-pci-intel-ptl,
but ALSA lists only “Jack Out” and HDMI playback devices—no built-in
speakers. The kernel log reports that TAS2783 amplifier firmware files
are missing.

packages above are installed at the listed versions.
How to reproduce
Boot Ubuntu 26.10 on this laptop.
Open Settings → Sound, or run wpctl status.
Observe that no built-in speaker output is available; PipeWire reports
“Dummy Output.”
Expected result: The built-in speakers are detected and available as an
audio output.
Could you advise whether the required HP/TAS2783 firmware files and a
matching SOF topology/kernel configuration can be added or otherwise
supported?
