Public bug reported:

[ Impact ]

OpenJDK 27 is released on 17th of September, the GA version is requested
by multiple customers for the stable Ubuntu releases.

openjdk-27 is a new package for the stable releases without reverse
dependencies.

openjdk-27 is built in the stable ppa: ppa:openjdk-private/bootstrap[1]
and should be binary-copied to -updates and -security[2].

[ Test Plan ]

- Validate openjdk-27 build time jtreg tests for stable releases (noble,
resolute, stonking, tenacious) [N]

- Execute openjdk-27 autopkgtests for stable releases (noble, resolute,
stonking, tenacious) [N]

- Piuparts tests for stable releases (noble, resolute, stonking,
tenacious) [N]

- Execute manual test case "Build and run Spring Petclinic using
openjdk-27" for stable releases (noble, resolute, stonking, tenacious):

---
apt install openjdk-27-jdk
git clone -b java-27-petclinic https://github.com/vpa1977/spring-petclinic
cd spring-petclinic
./gradlew bootRun
---
after the application starts
---
firefox http://localhost:8080
--- See [N]

- Execute manual test: co-installation of default-jdk and openjdk-27-jdk.
OpenJDK 27 should provide /usr/bin/java. There should not be
update-alternatives conflicts/setup issues.
---
apt install openjdk-27-jdk default-jdk
java --version
---
Should report Java 27. See [N]

- Validate openjdk-27 builds with openjdk-27 as a bootstrap. See [N]

[ Where problems could occur ]

openjdk-27 is a new package for the stable releases. It participates in
update-alternatives for /usr/bin/java, /usr/bin/javac, ... and we should
validate that there is no conflict/setup issue there.

Building next Java 27 release with Java 27 as a build-dep. Mitigate by a
no change rebuild against openjdk-27 bootstrap.

[ Other Info ]

This is a toolchain SRU.
The toolchain binaries should be copied from the stable PPA:
ppa:openjdk-private/bootstrap

- openjdk-27:
  - noble[N]
