Also affected on Ubuntu 24.04 with an Xorg session (not Wayland), and
still with libmutter-14-0 46.2-1ubuntu0.24.04.18 and gnome-shell
46.0-0ubuntu6~24.04.16.

Hardware: Dell laptop, AMD Ryzen 5 5625U (Barcelo iGPU), external HDMI
monitor, only the default Ubuntu extensions enabled.

Three session-ending crashes so far: 2026-10-08, 2026-10-09 and
2026-10-23. For the Oct 9 and Oct 23 crashes the kernel logged the same
fault:

gnome-shell[3765]: segfault at 29e ip 00007f2c4c0e4935 ... in
libmutter-14.so.0.0.0[7f2c4c050000+167000] which resolves to file
address 0xe4935 in the installed libmutter-14.so.0.0.0:

    call meta_window_actor_get_meta_window
    mov %rax,%r12
    testb $0x1,0x29e(%rax) <- SIGSEGV, %rax is NULL

i.e. meta_compositor_sync_stack() dereferencing old_window->hidden with
old_window == NULL, matching this report. In the second before each
crash the shell logged 14 GJS warnings "Object .MetaWindowActorX11 (...)
has been already disposed" from windowManager.js:1502.

Crash reports were uploaded to the error tracker by whoopsie. Full
traces attached. Happy to test the noble-updates package once it reaches
-proposed.
