On the Microsoft shim case OVMF_CODE.4M.ms.fd > 40-edk2-x86_64-secure-enrolled.json > Mint22.3 shows that in the VM as "Secureboot enabled",that works. It had to do a bit of a quirky way to get there: 1.I had to enter the BIOS very fast within first boot- max 3seconds 2.Then a new option turned in the security boot options, where I could enable it onetime- while the main "secureboot" option stayed disabled. Safe and exit 3.I then booted into mint (I had to disable the CDROM so it reliably booted from the HD) 4.And then it just worked, surprisingly.
But all of this just confirm: In a VM, Microsoft shims work, and custom pk certificates don't- the relevant case here is 50-edk2-x86_64-secure.json > OVMF_CODE_4M.secboot.fd that doesn't work then. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/2113456 Title: libvirt fails to define UEFI KVM VMs with firmware compatibility error on Ubuntu 24.04.
