Public bug reported:

The internal keyboard of the Xiaomi Redmi Book Pro 16 2026 (board TM2425,
BIOS RMAPT6B0P0909) does not work at all on 26.04; a USB keyboard works fine.

The device is probed correctly ("AT Translated Set 2 keyboard", isa0060/serio0,
atkbd bound, err_count 0, no userspace remapper running), but no scancode ever
arrives.

Root cause (already diagnosed and fixed upstream):

atkbd_probe() takes the atkbd_skip_getid() path on this machine (translated
controller + chassis type 10), which reports the fake id 0xab83 and then jumps
to deactivate_kbd:, calling atkbd_deactivate() -> ATKBD_CMD_RESET_DIS (0xF5).
This EC ACKs 0xF5 but stops delivering scancodes afterwards; neither 0xF4
(ENABLE) nor 0xFF (RESET_BAT) brings them back. Only re-enabling the keyboard
interface at the controller level (0xAE) revives it.

The fake id is visible in udev, which is the fingerprint of this code
path:

  $ grep -A1 'AT Translated' /proc/bus/input/devices
  I: Bus=0011 Vendor=0001 Product=0001 Version=ab83

  $ dmesg | grep -i i8042
  i8042: Warning: Keylock active

Upstream fix (merged; Cc: stable; applied by Dmitry Torokhov on
2026-08-28):

  https://lore.kernel.org/all/[email protected]/
  Input: atkbd - skip deactivate for Xiaomi Redmi Book Pro 16 2026

  { /* Xiaomi Redmi Book Pro 16 2026 (TM2425) */
    .matches = { DMI_MATCH(DMI_SYS_VENDOR, "XIAOMI"),
                 DMI_MATCH(DMI_PRODUCT_NAME, "REDMI Book Pro 16 2026") },
    .callback = atkbd_deactivate_fixup,
  },

Important: this is an 8-line table entry that reuses atkbd_deactivate_fixup(),
which already exists in the 26.04 kernel. No other dependency, no behaviour
change for any other machine.

Note that the sibling model TM2424 (Xiaomi Book Pro 14) already got exactly the
same quirk, and it is already present in resolute 7.0.0-39.39:

  7.0.0-39.39 changelog:
  - Input: atkbd - skip deactivate for Xiaomi Book Pro 14's internal keyboard

The TM2425 entry is missing only because it was merged ~4 weeks later
(2026-08-28 vs 2026-08-02). Please carry it in resolute as a cherry-pick /
SAUCE patch so that 26.04 works on this machine without a boot parameter.

Workaround currently used by the reporter: i8042.dumbkbd=1 (keyboard works, but
the Caps Lock LED is lost because atkbd then never writes to the keyboard).
