Hi, For this bug, this applies to logout inhibitor specifically in ptyxis
I understand other software may create system inhibitors for other reason which may block emergency shutdown, but that should be another launchpad bug to track separately. The maintainer of ptyxis is not actively maintained anymore https://blogs.gnome.org/chergert/2026/02/06/mid-life-transitions/ The upstream issue tracker related https://gitlab.gnome.org/chergert/ptyxis/-/work_items/573 And the reply to one of the comment of issue report https://gitlab.gnome.org/chergert/ptyxis/-/work_items/573#note_2746939 Until there is a fix for emergency shutdown, my wish is to have a mitigation like the modification provided in #4 The logout inhibitor may not be broken but should not be the default UX as this is a changed of UX in 26.04 compare to previous LTSes without a warning in the system UI or release note. The unintentionally logout inhibitor by the user when using ptyxis as the default Ubuntu Desktop UX may lead to high temperature damage to the system and this is a inconsistent system behavior to the previous Ubuntu Desktop LTSes. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/2171467 Title: Ptyxis creates systemd inhibitor blocks system emergency shutdown To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/gnome-session/+bug/2171467/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list [email protected] https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
