Please use reproduce-digest-alias.py and disregard reproduce-native-
oaep-roundtrip.sh as the primary reproducer of this bug. The replacement
directly detects the digest-alias failure with and without FIPS. Run:
python3 -I -S reproduce-digest-alias.py
The identical file returns exit 1 (BUG REPRODUCED) on Ubuntu 24.04
OpenSSL 3.0.13-0ubuntu3.16 with either the FIPS or default provider. An
OpenSSL 3.5.5 control returns exit 0. The companion digest-alias-
validation.txt contains the results.
The earlier script tested a downstream CMS symptom whose behavior
depends on the provider; its original results remain valid for that
narrower purpose.
