I took a look at the logs and they're not useful: GDM starts, auto-logs-
into the liveuser user session, then suddenly it's also starting the
greeter session. There's no GDM debugging or anything like that turned
on. Since the greeter session is started later, it finishes starting
later, and ultimately GDM decides to switch you to the just-started
greeter session.

However, maybe the bug is
https://gitlab.gnome.org/GNOME/gdm/-/work_items/1106? Can you confirm if
turning off plymouth on the kernel command-line makes the issue go away?

If not, please turn on GDM debugging. To do this, you can pass
`rd.break` on the kernel command-line, which will interrupt boot before
we switch from initrd to real system. From there, you should be able to
edit /sysroot/etc/gdm/custom.conf to uncomment the setting that turns on
debugging. Boot, reproduce the bug, and then send over all the .journal
files in /var/log/journal. Please don't turn on drm debugging, it's not
useful for diagnosing things that aren't compositor or GPU driver bugs
(which this isn't). Thanks!
