Public bug reported:
Please don't recommend pidgin. It is the last major gtk2 app and I'd
like to remove it from Ubuntu as part of removing gtk2 from Ubuntu.
Pidgin is available on Flathub. Flathub Beta has an alpha build of
Pidgin 3 which switches to gtk4. It doesn't look like work has started
on packaging pidgin 3 for Debian or Ubuntu yet, but the upstream
developer has requested that distros not ship pidgin 3 yet anyway.
** Affects: ubuntucinnamon-environment (Ubuntu)
Importance: Undecided
Status: New
** Tags: gtk2-rm tenacious
