Thanks Hector. I tested the PPA build 10.0.0-2ubuntu8.20~ppa1793131786+8cd69215ac on Ubuntu 24.04 (noble), and it fixes the issue for me.
Setup: - KVM host: noble, librados2/librbd1 20.2.4-1noble from download.ceph.com - Ceph 20.2.4 cluster with auth_allowed_ciphers = aes256k (the client key is aes256k) - a libvirt RBD storage pool with a cephx secret Results: 1. With 10.0.0-2ubuntu8.19 from noble-updates, `virsh pool-start` fails: error: internal error: failed to set RADOS option: auth_supported 2. I installed the PPA versions of all libvirt binary packages present on the host (libvirt0, libvirt-clients, libvirt-daemon, libvirt-daemon-driver-qemu, libvirt-daemon-driver-storage-rbd, libvirt-daemon-system and the config/l10n packages) and restarted libvirtd. 3. `virsh pool-start` now succeeds and the pool is running. `virsh vol-create-as <pool> test 64M`, `vol-list` and `vol-delete` all work. 4. A guest running on the host was not affected by the package change or the libvirtd restart. 5. Downgrading back to 10.0.0-2ubuntu8.19 afterwards was clean. About the version mismatch: on my host the option disappears with the upstream 20.2.4 client libraries, which is what the description refers to. If it is already gone in 19.2.6, as you noted, then noble's own ceph packages will hit the same error once 19.2.6 is released from noble-proposed. I'm happy to verify the package from noble-proposed when it is uploaded. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/2172324 Title: libvirt RBD storage pool fails to start against Ceph 20.2.4: "failed to set RADOS option: auth_supported" To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/libvirt/+bug/2172324/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list [email protected] https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
