Public bug reported:

Profanity version 0.13.1 was previously connecting to a Snikket host
without issue. Then roughly two weeks ago it gave “login failed”. Every
attempt thereafter constently failed in the same way. Yet the xmpp
client Dino continued working. The debug logs show this:

xmpp: DBG: connection successful
conn: DBG: SENT: <?xml version="1.0"?><stream:stream to="redacted.snikket.chat"
xml:lang="en" version="1.0" xmlns="jabber:client"
xmlns:stream="http://etherx.jabber.org/streams";>
xmpp: DBG: Socket closed by remote host.
xmpp: DBG: Closing socket.
prof: DBG: Connection handler: XMPP_CONN_DISCONNECT
prof: DBG: Connection handler: Login failed
prof: DBG: Connection handler: No reconnect timer
prof: INF: Login failed

There was no change to Profanity version or configuration, so the cause
must be a change on the snikket server. However, that does not
necessarily mean Profanity has no bug.

** Affects: profanity (Ubuntu)
     Importance: Undecided
         Status: New
