Answer from the plocate upstream maintainer: He is aware of the desire
for accent-insensitive search, but it is hard to do in a correct and
performant way, since the rules are heavily locale-dependent and
updatedb does not know at build time what locale locate will be run
under.
Since such a change should be implemented upstream, I mark this bug as
invalid (a.k.a. won't fix). In case you want to have this feature,
please convince upstream or submit a patch upstream.
