Another simpler task would be to continually test the newer kernel
releases that come out. As of this post I see that the latest published
ubuntu kernel is 2.6.24-5.9
(https://launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/linux).
And if you're comfortable building your own kernels, it would be helpful
to test the patch referenced in the upstream bugzilla report you
referenced. Thanks.
