** Description changed:
Hi,
There is a naming conflict between the Hardy Heron version of mplayer
which identifies itself as:
2:1.0~rc2-0ubuntu7
and the debian package generated from the current svn mplayer which
identifies itself from debian/changelog as
1.0svn
This leads to apt deciding that the svn version is in fact older than
the repository version and installing 2:1.0~rc2-0ubuntu7 in place of the
svn mplayer. An ugly fix for this is to alter the debian/changelog file
from:
mplayer (1.0svn) unstable; urgency=low
to:
mplayer (3:1.0svn) unstable; urgency=low
- I have approached the mplayer-users mailing list with this issue but was
- keen to see if something could be fixed from the Ubuntu end,
- particularly as Hardy Heron is still 'under construction'.
+ or to 'fix' the package in Synaptic. I have approached the mplayer-users
+ mailing list with this issue but was keen to see if something could be
+ done from the Ubuntu end, particularly as Hardy Heron is still 'under
+ construction'.
Thanks for your trouble,
Andrew
