Are you using the 64 bit install? If so, are you able to boot up into high res. X? When I boot my computer (Precision M6300 with Ubuntu 7.10 x86_64), it boots into the low-res warning screen. I allow the boot to finish. GDM comes up in low res. I then go to a virtual terminal and and as root run modprobe -r nvidia to remove the nvidia module. I then, again as root, execute /etc/init.d/gdm stop then /etc/init.d/gdm start. This fixes the problem and launches me into a high res login screen.
I am using the latest nvidia beta driver from the nvidia site. -- X Problems with nVidia on Qudra FX 1600M in Dell Precision M6300 https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/163237 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is the bug contact for Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
