In fact I am now using, currently as a line in ~/.Xdefaults : *charClass: 33:48,35:48,37-38:48,43-47:48,58:48,61:48,63-64:48,126:48 That has the advantage over the charClass entry in the bug as it appears on Launchpad that it not only facilitates double click highlighting of email addresses, but full URLs also. It might be a better choice.
