It sounds like the -i810 driver may have been used, which is now deprecated in favor of -intel. Please re-test this against -intel in a newer version of Ubuntu. If it works in Feisty or Gutsy, we can close this bug as fixed; if the issue still persists even in Hardy, then this would be high priority for fixing.
