Public bug reported:

Binary package hint: nautilus

Hi!

When attempting to reorganize the bookmarks/shortcuts in the "Places" toolbar
on the left side of the Nautilus window, I noticed an unexpected/undesired
effect.
I'm unable to reorganize the shortcuts in the order I choose.
When moving a shortcut, say, for instance, moving the 3rd from the top to the
bottom of the list, instead of moving the shortcut I selected, Nautilus will
select one of the shortcuts inbetween the 3rd from the top and the bottom one
and move that up a few steps. It was a seemingly random selection and
destination at first, but upon closer inspection, the moved shortcut was always
the same one and was always moved to the same place. If I move the 2nd from the
top, a different shortcut is selected and moved to a different place, and so on.
In short, I can't move the shortcut I want, to where I want it to be in the
list.
A little odd.
Since I can't (at least not at a quick glance) find the place where these
shortcuts are stored, I'm reporting it as a bug, as it is, in fact, an
undesired behaviour.
(The only thing I found was an .xml file in the ~/.nautilus configuration
directory containing the "default" Places shortcuts (those for mounted drives
and such) and the user-created shortcuts were nowhere in that file). I suppose
I can find the file where these shortcuts are stored if I try a little harder,
but it's still an undesired and quite annoying "feature". :)

Running Ubuntu 7.10 Gutsy with the latest Nautilus version from the apt
repository (1:2.20.0-0ubuntu7)

Thanks.
