Public bug reported:

Binary package hint: gnome-system-tools

I'm using gnome-system-tools 2.21.5.1-0ubuntu1 from hardy

I want to set up a GPRS modem. Going into Admin/Network Settings I get
the regular dialog, which I can unlock by authenticating. This shows
eth1, eth0 and wlan0 all in roaming mode. Both wired and wireless are
working fairly well through the n-m panel applet.

I added a ppp connection, connected to /dev/ACM0, but any change I try
to make to it results in a dialog saying

"The configuration could not be saved. You are not allowed to modify
the system configuration."

The profile menu is empty, and trying to save a new profile just makes
the program disappear. (Did it crash? I don't get a crash dialog.)

The only file under /etc/gnome-system-tools is users/profiles. I'm not
sure where it is trying to save this.

This might be like bug 62624, but it's not quite the same.

** Affects: gnome-system-tools (Ubuntu)
     Importance: Undecided
         Status: New
