Public bug reported:
Binary package hint: xserver-xorg-video-all
I'm not sure how to reproduce this.
>From dapper, I did the
gksu "update-manager -c -d"
Then upgrade to Edgy. After everything was done, xserver-xorg-video-all didn't
get installed, so I was missing xserver-xorg-video-ati that I need for my
laptop.
I found that the old packages (from dapper) xserver-xorg-driver-ati was still
installed. As a result, right after the installation, after reboot, my X didn't
start with the following error message:
(II) LoadModule: "ati"
(II) Loading /usr/lib/xorg/modules/drivers/ati_drv.so
(II) Module ati: vendor="X.Org Foundation"
compiled for 7.0.0, module version = 6.5.8
Module class: X.Org Video Driver
ABI class: X.Org Video Driver, version 0.8
(EE) module ABI major version (0) doesn't match the server's version (1)
(II) UnloadModule: "ati"
(II) Unloading /usr/lib/xorg/modules/drivers/ati_drv.so
(EE) Failed to load module "ati" (module requirement mismatch, 0)
