I notice you mention you've tested with the upstream 2.6.24 mainline
kernel and that this issue still exists. I'd actually encourage you to
also open an upstream bug report at bugzilla.kernel.org. I've noticed
many times that once a bug is escalated upstream there is a quick
resolution through the help and support fo the mainline kernel
community. We can also monitor the upstream report from this launchpad
