Using VMWare Workstation 6, and kernel 2.6.24-5-generic, I fire up
VMWare, start a Windows XP virtual machine, and then insert a USB
device. At this stage, I believe I used to be able to go the VMware "VM"
menu, and tell it to expose the USB device to the Windows virtual
machine.
With the current kernel version 2.6.24-5.8 I don't see the USB device in
that menu. If I quite VMWare, insert the device, restart VMWare, then it
shows up. I think that VMWare may not be notified of the new device.
