I don't know if it's a bug, but I presume it is a bug because I encountered on my Mandriva 2007, kernel 2.6.17-5 on dual core AMD 64/4000+. I want just say Archdrone is my safe man, modprobe -r ehci_hcd remain all ok for my external hard drive. In the past all gone ok. My mother board is an AM2NF3-vista from asrock, with an incorpored sound card. I know there isn't support in linux, but one day I tried it and my box seems to recognize. I tried to get sound from it, but nothing, and after, my HD wasn't recognized. I stay 3 days without, and on another mandriva 2006, HD runs fine. Before reinstall all, I tried differents googled soluce, but here i fund THE solution. I hope it will stay fine, i go to rebbot my computer, and i will say you if I must retype modprobe -r ehci_hcd? Thanks very much Archdrone.
