I complete agree with daves post. What good is Ubuntu if it can not work with some of the most common hardware configurations, like ATI graphic cards. Ubuntu is brilliant in so many areas, but is inferior in the most basic operations - things that Microsoft mastered decades ago is still the hardest nut to crack for Ubuntu, I am amazed!. This bug is also the reason I am going back to XP (sorry guys I know it is blasfemia) as I can not do any serious work with an Ubuntu distribution anymore. Neither am I recommending Ubuntu for anyone because of this error.
Again I agree with dave, roll back to previous packages where Ubuntu didn't freeze and work your way up. Boil the problem down as for any problem in the software debugging business. Verify any buffers are not suffering from under- or overrun etc. Sorry for the harsh words, but I hope this gets solved very soon - Good luck debugging :-) -- X freezes when compiz is enabled on ATI cards https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/108527 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is the bug contact for Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list [email protected] https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
