Hm, it looks I can not reproduce it by now. It annoyed me for some time (throughout the autumn), and now I finally put into launchpad a bunch of reports (including this one). However in this case, I did not make sure it is still valid - it was so just for some files (may be situations). I apologize for that. If I find it occur again (or just find such file, I do not remember that ones), I'll post the example.
Just for clarification of that cases: If I had clicked on a respective window item in the window list in the gnome panel (to minimize it), and reclicked it again (to unminimize it), it was already done - contrary to situations when I just had waited for the first page. It then took some tens (?20) seconds. My computer is not such a lazy one: core2duo, 2x1.66GHz. And it was not a problem for xpdf. It had looked like an intentional sleeping before displaying the document.
