I can confirm this behaviour. I found it not to be connected to german language support, but the message will appear after you add a second language to your Ubuntu Hardy installation. In my case, I added swedish (with english already installed) and then started receiving the error message (in swedish) that language support for swedish was not found. I then switched the default language back to english and now get the message "Language support en_us not found" before I log into my Gnome session. Very annoying.
