Public bug reported:

I installed KDE 4 today, and I customized the menu by sorting the
applications as I like them by using kmenuedit.

After I did that, most of the icons in the Kickoff Menu do not have
icons.

Firefox, Thunderbird, and Kcron are some examples.

If I search for the application using the search bar on top of the
kickoff menu, the application will appear with the correct icon.

If I try to configure the icon manually using kmenuedit, it will not
find the icon in the list. For example, if you search for "firefox" it
will not show a firefox icon available for use.

If I log in to Gnome, all the applications that do not have an icon
under KDE4 will show the correct icon.
