Digged a little, here's from the changelog.
xfonts-terminus (4.20-6) unstable; urgency=low
* Install the alias files in their proper place /etc/X11/fonts/misc.

* update-fonts-alias is automatically added in postinst by
dh_installxfonts. I suppose in version 4.20-5.1 this command was

And if I look at /etc/X11/fonts/misc then there are alias files
(although have no idea what they are or what function they do. )
[EMAIL PROTECTED]:/etc/X11/fonts/misc$ ls
bitchx.alias xfonts-base.alias xfonts-terminus.alias
There is some documentation however for man update-fonts-alias
