I am getting the same symptoms.
I am running xubuntu 7.10 on a:
IBM Netvista
Intel Pentium 3
935.025 Mhz
Cpu Family: 6
Model: 8
256mB Ram.
I click on terminal, and it boots me out of xubuntu, and I have to log
back in as I do when starting up...
