Public bug reported:
Binary package hint: update-manager
Running Gutsy, latest updates. When trying to run update-manager, I get
this error:
Could not initialize the package information
A unresolvable problem occurred while initializing the package
information.
Please report this bug against the 'update-manager' package and include
the following error message:
'E:Encountered a section with no Package: header, E:Problem with
MergeList /var/lib/apt/lists/security.ubuntu.com_ubuntu_dists_gutsy-
security_universe_binary-amd64_Packages, E:The package lists or status
file could not be parsed or opened.'
I don't know what this means, other than update-manager closes on "OK."
So I'm doing what it told me to do. Yesterday, everything ran fine.
