Thanks for your bug report and for your contribution to ubuntu. The
ubuntu Gutsy release had a bug in the ubiquity installer which caused
bad parameters for usplash in a lot of computer. Is it possible for you
to test next ubuntu release fixes this issue? You can find download
links for the next hardy release here :

Keep in mind that this release is not for production use and is only for
testing purpose.
>From now on, you can find workaround for that problem in bug #150930 but
I suggest that you don't modify /etc/usplash.conf file if the problems
that you get are just "cosmetic" unless you love to play with this kind
of things ;) .
