The Status of the bug report was Fix Committed. That status should be
used when a patch is sent to -proposed repositories.

Concerning the vesafb part, the ubuntu choice to reject vesafb as a
framebuffer driver was not based on nothing. vesafb can probably cause
different issues that ubuntu expect to avoid to his final users and
adding it will probably not fix the issue for everyone since the problem
you describe can be caused by many different things. Also, AFAIK, vesafb
is deprecated. I think that you may want to discuss of these matters
with ubuntu developers. However, please don't use coarse words like
"stupid", this cannot lead to good community work, we need to respect

Maybe that you can help ubuntu developers to improve the actual
situation if you're wiling to consider all aspects of the problem, and
that is, that there is a incredibly high number of hardware part that
ubuntu is expected to work with.
