i confirm on ubuntu gutsy, firefox 2.0.0.12, and i think firefox 2.0.0.6 also on firefox 3b3
if you run firefox with -jsconsole you can see the error message: security error: content at http://...... may not load or link to smb://....... solution for firefox 2: in about:config change: "network.gnomevfs.supported-protocols" from "smb:, sftp:" to "sftp:" (ie remove smb: bit) add a new string called: "network.protocol-handler.app.smb" and have the value as "/usr/bin/xdg-open" solution for firefox 3: in about:config change: "network.gnomevfs.supported-protocols" from "smb:, sftp:" to "sftp:" (ie remove smb: bit) this makes links to smb open externally in the default application for that type of file/folder maybe this should get into firefox-gnome-support or ubufox? -- URL "smb://..." works in location bar & tool bar, not as link https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/184744 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is the bug contact for Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list [email protected] https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
